Sanctuary Terms

Effective date: June 2026  ·  Last updated: June 2026

The Hero Church is a sanctuary community organized under Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code. By accessing this site, joining our community, or receiving sacrament, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who we are

The Hero Church is a faith community and entheogenic sanctuary dedicated to conscious wellness, personal transformation, and sacred community. We are organized as a 508(c)(1)(A) faith-based organization. Our sacramental offerings — sacred mushroom (fruiting body) chocolates and gummies — are offered to members as part of our religious practice, not as consumer goods.

Nothing in these terms constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our sacraments are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. If you have a medical condition or take prescription medications, consult a qualified healthcare provider before participation.

2. Eligibility — adults 21+ only

Membership and sacrament access is open exclusively to adults who are twenty-one (21) years of age or older. By proceeding past the sanctuary gate, placing an order, or affirming membership, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

We reserve the right to verify age and to decline or revoke membership where required by law, by the welfare of the community, or where we have reason to believe the eligibility requirement has not been met. Orders placed by individuals who do not meet the age requirement will be cancelled and refunded.

3. Nature of the community and sacrament

The Hero Church is a faith community, not a retailer. Participation involves a sincere affirmation of conscious wellness and mutual respect. Sacrament access is offered to members in exchange for donations that sustain the sanctuary.

Our sacramental offerings contain entheogenic sacraments derived from sacred mushroom (fruiting body). The legality of these sacraments varies by jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with the laws of your location. We do not ship to jurisdictions where receipt would be unlawful, and we reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion.

Nothing in these terms, on our website, or in our communications constitutes a health claim, medical claim, or therapeutic promise. “Be your own hero” is an invitation to personal exploration — not a clinical outcome.

4. Acceptable use

As a member of The Hero Church you agree:

  • To be 21 or older and to provide accurate age verification information.
  • To receive sacrament for personal, sincere religious or wellness use only.
  • Not to redistribute, resell, or transfer sacrament to any other person.
  • Not to misrepresent your identity, age, or intent to obtain sacrament.
  • Not to use the sanctuary, our name, or our community for any unlawful purpose.
  • To keep your account and contact information accurate and current.

Violation of these terms ends your membership immediately and may result in cancellation of pending orders without refund.

5. Orders, payment, and shipping

When you place an order through our shop you are making a good-faith donation to the sanctuary in exchange for sacrament access. By completing checkout you confirm:

  • You are 21 years of age or older.
  • The shipping address you provide is accurate and located in a jurisdiction where receipt is lawful.
  • You have read and accept these terms and the sanctuary acknowledgment shown at checkout.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your card details are handled directly by Stripe and never stored on our servers. By submitting payment you also accept Stripe's terms of service.

Orders ship via common carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, or similar) to the address you provide. Shipping rates and estimated delivery timelines are shown at checkout. Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery to the carrier. We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, weather, or events outside our control.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order — for example, where payment cannot be verified, where the destination jurisdiction prohibits shipment, or where we have concerns about eligibility. Declined or cancelled orders are not charged, or are refunded in full if already charged.

6. Returns, replacements, and refunds

Our goal is that every sacrament arrives safely and as described. Please see our Returns & Replacements page for the full policy. In summary:

  • Damaged or incorrect orders — contact us within 14 days with your order number and a photo. We will replace or refund, at our discretion.
  • Non-delivery — contact us if your order has not arrived within the estimated window. We will investigate with the carrier and arrange a replacement or refund if the order is confirmed lost.
  • Opened consumables — because sacrament is a perishable consumable, we cannot accept returns of opened items except where required by applicable law.
  • Change of mind — we are unable to cancel or refund orders that have already shipped.

To initiate a return or replacement, email heromyco@proton.me with your order number.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE HERO CHURCH AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, AND AGENTS MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE SITE, SACRAMENTS, OR COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. SACRAMENTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” FOR SINCERE RELIGIOUS AND WELLNESS EXPLORATION BY ELIGIBLE ADULTS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE HERO CHURCH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE SANCTUARY OR YOUR USE OF SACRAMENT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT DAMAGES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE ORDER AT ISSUE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

8. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The Hero Church is operated by Braintied Inc., a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in Los Angeles, California.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the sanctuary that cannot be resolved informally shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by a mutually agreed arbitration service, on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration. This arbitration clause does not prevent either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

Before initiating arbitration, please contact us at heromyco@proton.me — we prefer to resolve concerns directly.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our community and legal obligations evolve. When we make material changes we will update the effective date at the top and, where feasible, notify members by email. Your continued participation after the updated date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
